The Moscow Music Critics Association has awarded the P. I. Tchaikovsky Perm Academic Opera and Ballet House for Traviata staged by Robert Wilson from America.
This version of Traviata premiered at the opening ceremony of the Diaghilev's Festival in Perm in June. As the website of the Music Critics Association reports, the prize is awarded "for cocreation of masters and younger artists in the Perm Opera and Ballet Theatre: Robert Wilson, Theodor Kurentzis, and Nadezhda Pavlova".
The winner was selected from the short list, which included the State Orchestra of Russia under conductorship of Vladimir Yurovsky, Rodelinda of the Bolshoi Theatre, Mad Days in Yekaterinburg, the box of Richter by the Melodia sound recording company and Chronicles of World Opera by Mikhail Muginstein.
