The participants of the Antarctic Summit, members of the Club of Leaders discussed the projects of support of scientific activities of Russia in the Southern continent with the President Vladimir Putin during the teleconference on November 3. The proposed initiatives included projects of promoting Antarctica in the Russian society (for example, holding a film festival about Antarctica) and the projects of expansion of the presence of the Russian scientific mission in the Southern continent.

      The latter involved: creation of an all-terrain vehicle “Snow Bass” on the basis of the Volga Bus Plant, development of materials for rendering first aid in extreme conditions, “Stop the Blood”, organization of a grant to Russian scientists, the “Private Sun” project (equipment for compensating for sunlight in the polar night), construction of plants producing alternative energy (solar and wind generators) and others.
