Bolshoi Theatre Receives 5 Nominations for British Critics Award

Winners of The National Dance Award 2016 will be announced on February 6, 2017.

      The Bolshoi Theatre has received five nominations for the annual award of the British critics, the press officer the Bolshoi Theatre, Katerina Novikova reported to TASS.

      She points out that the famous Russian troupe gained such attention of the British critics thanks to the great success of the summer tours of the Bolshoi Theatre's ballet in July-August in London. "The Bolshoi Theatre was of a similar success  ten years ago, when  its really triumphal London tour in 2006 also gained five nominations to the ballet of the Bolshoi Theatre", - Katerina Novikova reminded.

      According to her, this time the Bolshoi Theatre is nominated for the title of Outstanding Ballet Troupe. Jean-Christophe Maillo with his ballet The Taming of the Shrew will compete in the The Best Classical Stage Production nomination. Yekaterina Krysanova with her role of Catharina in The Taming of the Shrew was nominated twice: in the Best Classical Dancer and Outstanding Performance in Classics categories. Vladislav Lantratov received the nomination Outstanding Performance in Classics among men for his part of Petruchio in the same ballet.
