Farewell ceremony to the legendary circus actor Oleg Popov is taking place  in the circus of Rostov-on-Don today. Thereafter the body will be delivered to Germany, where the clown lived for the last quarter of the century and where he will be buried.

      "The farewell will last  on the arena of the Rostov-on-Don circus from 10 am till 1 pm. A collage from photos of his performances has been prepared. The head of the Russian State Circus, Dmitry Ivanov and the People's Artist of Russia, Edgar Zapashny will arrive in the city to bid farewell to Oleg Popov. The clown's daughter will come to Rostov-on-Don from Germany.

      The People's Artist of the USSR, Oleg Popov suddenly died, aged 87, on November 2. It happened in the Russian city of Rostov-on-Don, where he had toured with shows. According to the show producer, Oleg Chesnokov, Oleg Popov has died of cardiac arrest while watching TV.
