One out of five Russians is a car owner, with the highest level recorded in the Far Eastern Federal District. According to ROMIR Monitoring, which probed Russians’ attitude to car insurance, 26% of drivers are men and only 9% of cars belong to women.
The usual age of a car owner is between 35 and 44 years, stated by 26% of respondents. Compulsory insurance is less popular than it was last year, bought by just 3% of drivers, a 19% drop.
Two-thirds, or 67%, do not insure their cars against carjacking and damage, while roughly the same number of people is satisfied with the services provided by insurance companies.
The poll was conducted across Russia, involving 1,600 respondents aged 18 plus from more than 100 cities and settlements.
