St. Petersburg authorities have issued a storm warning today. The areas close to the sea will have to brave a wind of 17-20m a second.
Earlier, Moscow lived through a similar storm with 10mm of precipitation. Trams and trolley lines got out of order, cars were buried under fallen trees. At the moment, the city is bracing up for new storms. Today, the gusts will reach 12-17m a second.
Public services have stepped up safety measures. Construction has been suspended on some sites, emergency and maintenance teams are on alert for possible disruptions.
