Relatives of the world famous sculptor, who died on August 9 in the USA plan to have a memorial service for him in New York at the end of this week.

      

      The artist Jeff Bliumis, who was a close friend of Ernst Neizvestny reported to TASS about it.

      

      "The requiem service will take place at an Orthodox church in Manhattan on Friday or Saturday", - he said. Jeff Bliumis noted that the burial service will be carried out as per an orthodox ceremony.

      

      "The sculptor's widow has stated her willingness to bury him on Shelter Island, where he used to live. It has not been finalized yet, though" - the artist noted.

      

      Ernst Neizvestny died at the Groan Brook hospital in the State of New York on Tuesday.
