New Crew for ISS is Approved

The state committee in Baikonur has approved a new crew for working at the International Space Station.

      Astronauts are starting off to the ISS today, on July 7.

      Roscosmos reports that the selected astronauts are Anatoly Ivanishin from Russia, Cathleen Rubins from the USA and Takuya Onisi from Japan. Anatoly Ivanishin has already had experience of spaceflights, whereas it will be a debut for the two other astronauts.

      They will for the first time go to outer space by the latest piloted ship Soyuz MS Union developed in the framework of the improvement program for Soyuz TMA. The launch was initially planned for June 24, however it was postponed for the sake of additional testing of the new equipment. The crew starting off to the International Space Station today os going to arrive there in two days. Carrier rocket Soyuz-FG, which will put the spaceship with astronauts to the orbit has already been set up on Baikonur Cosmodrome.
