The Federal Supervision Agency for Information Technologies and Communications included the “Vice.com” web-portal in the register of banned websites. The decision was taken based on the conclusion of the Tobolsk City Court of Tyumen Oblast. This was reported on the agency’s page at “VKontakte” on Wednesday, June 8.

Roskomnadzor explained that the reason for the inclusion of the web-portal in the register was the information contained on the web site regarded as propaganda of theft of goods from malls and shops ( “shoplifting propaganda”). It is noted that the agency had previously informed the administration of “Vice.com” of the materials on the website recognized to be prohibited for spreading on the territory of Russia. However, the representatives of the web-portal did not respond to the warning.
