The hacker under the nickname Tessa88 put up data for access to 32 million Twitter accounts for sale in the darknet. The database containing email addresses, usernames and passwords will cost a potential buyer 10 Bitcoins (about 5.8 thousand dollars). This was reported by TechCrunch on Thursday, June 9.
The administration of Twitter stated that no breach of the internal services of the company took place. According to them, the hacker used malicious software to steal user account data. At the same time “LeakedSource “publication added that the violator most likely formed the base using the programs designed to steal data for access of Twitter-accounts directly from the browser. It is noted that the most part of the accounts belong to the users from Russia. 6 of 10 e-mail services that are most often found in the database are Russian. In particular, these included mail.ru and yandex.ru.
