The President of Russia Vladimir Putin signed the law on raising the minimum wage to 7.5 thousand roubles. The document was posted on the official website of legal information on Thursday, June 2. The law enters into force on July 1, 2016.
On May 17 the Head of the Duma Committee for Labor and Social Policy Olga Batalina reported that it was also planned to develop a bill on phased equating of the minimum wage to the minimum subsistence level of population of working age. On March 25 the Head of the Government Dmitry Medvedev announced his decision to increase the minimum wage up to 7.5 thousand roubles from July 1. The increase in the minimum wage will require about 6 billion roubles per year.
