Russian Satellite Glonass-M  Successfully Put to Intended Orbit

The Russian navigation spacecraft Glonass-M  launched today by the carrier rocket Soyuz 2.1b from Plesetsk Cosmodrome in the Arkhangelsk Region has been put to its target orbit and taken charge of by the ground support of the Main Testing Space Center of the RF Aerospace Forces.

      "Stable command and telemetric communication with the spacecraft Glonass-M has been established and maintained. Onboard systems of the satellite are functioning well", - the press service of the RF Defense Ministry reported to TASS.

      The new satellite of the GLONASS system can be put into operation in one month.
