Large-scale reduction of budgetary expenditures may lead to the impoverishment of doctors and teachers. This was stated by the Chief Economist of Vnesheconombank Andrei Klepach, according to Rambler News Service.
According to his words, the expenditures will be reduced even further. As Klepach added, such a reduction is possible primarily due to expenditures on education, medicine and science. He acknowledged that previously “public expenses” had been too large and such correction was inevitable, but drew attention to the issue of the reduction scale.
On April 16 it became known that the Russian Ministry of Finance had prepared amendments to the law on the budget for 2016. These include a reduction in unprotected expenditures by 10 percent.
