In the year of its 160th anniversary the State Tretyakov Gallery is for the first time going to send masterpieces from its collection go to the Far East. The first exhibition of the Tretyakov Gallery will take place in the Primorye Territory, the regional administration reports.
The visitors will see works by the famous Russian artists, such as Vasily Tropinin, Pyotr Zabolotsky, and Konstantin Makovsky. The exposition will also present works by Ivan Kramskoy, the author of the well-known Stranger, as well as Illarion Pryanishnikov, who participated in designing Christ the Saviour Cathedral.
The Primorye Art Gallery will in its turn send exhibits to the famous museum in Moscow. 57 canvasses from the Primorye State Art Gallery will be exhibited in halls of the State Tretyakov Gallery in September-December, 2016.
