The Federate Council has approved Russian government’s initiative to create a state monopoly in the alcohol market. This was said on the 23rd of January by the deputy chairman of parliament’s social policy branch Igor Chernyshev on air of the radio “Govorit Moskva”.
According to his words such measures will put the “alcohol that we think is drinkable but is actually poison” out of stock. “Today the alcohol is a business for everyone apart from the government. Then it’s up to the government to help those who has an addiction” – commented Chernyshev. Also the senator mentioned that creating a government monopoly will bring a lot more money for the treasury.
