The oil company YUKOS will not file for bankruptcy – declares the chairman of the management board of YUKOS Viktor Gerashchenko in his interview for the Kommersant journal.
“We do not surrender! They are pressing us to bankruptcy while we are doing our best to fulfill our obligations and claims of the tax bodies,” – says he.
According to him the company’s bankruptcy if initiated by the company itself would be to the advantage of the creditors. The banks that hammer YUKOS a defaulter get the priority right for payback. However forward filing for bankruptcy can be regarded a false bankruptcy, thus threatening YUKOS with new prosecution, including criminal proceedings.
