Starting from Tuesday, November 24, Russia stopped the supply of coal to Ukraine in response to the energy blockade of Crimea. This was reported on November 25 by "Kommersant".
Russian customs, according to the newspaper, imposed a ban on the shipment of thermal and coking coal to Ukrainian customers. At the same time, coal transit through Ukraine continues as usual.
Acting Director of "Ukrenergo" Vsevolod Kovalchuk accused Russia of reneging on earlier contracts, but did not disclose the details. A source in the Energy Ministry of Ukraine reported that the coal reserves in the country make 2 million tons, and this volume is enough for at least a month.
