Russian traveler Fyodor Konyukhov will go round the world trip in a balloon "Morton". This was reported in a press release of the organizers. The expedition starts in Australia in June 2016. During the flight, the balloon will not make any landings.
During the circumnavigation flight traveler will have to sleep no more than four hours a day. Also, he will regularly need to go beyond the cockpit to check and clean the ice torch and switch cylinders. These works will be carried out at a height of 5-10 thousand meters at a speed of 100-200 kilometers per hour with air temperature of minus 40 degrees Celsius.
The flight will take place on the following route: Australia - Tasman Sea - New Zealand - Pacific Ocean - South America (Chile and Argentina) - Falkland Islands - Atlantic Ocean - Africa (South Africa, Cape of Good Hope) - Indian Ocean - Australia. The route will make about 33-35 thousand kilometers.
It is noted that the project was approved by Russian President Vladimir Putin and Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin.
