The 14th grand ceremony of the international ballet award 'Benua - 2006' took place yesterday at the new stage of the Bolshoi Theatre.
This year the winners of the Benua award are choreograph Boris Eyfman with his ballet Anna Karenina (The Boris Eyfman Ballet Theatre in St.-Petersburg), prima ballerina of the Korean National Ballet Kim Chjou-von and prima of the Mariinsky Theatre Yekaterina Kondaurova.
Leonid Sarafanov (Ballet of the Vienna Opera) and Van Di (International Competition of Modern Dance in Nagoya) have been awarded as the best ballet dancers.
The most honorable prize 'For Life in Art' has been granted on the Swedish ballet master Mats Ek.
