The 15th International Week of Conservatories will take place in St. Petersburg from October 23 to October 30, 2015.
Students and professors of Russian and foreign higher music schools will perform ancient music, symphonic, choral and chamber works by classic composers, as well as ethnic, folk, jazz and crossover music.
The Week will be opened with Tchaikovsky played by musicians of the Moscow and Petersburg Conservatories. It will be followed with performances by the higher schools of France and Italy , in the Sheremetev Palace. The concert hall of the Smolny Cathedral and the Mariinsky Theater will present ensembles from Russia, Armenia, Poland and Turkey. The ethnomarathon will be crowned with a spiritual jazz concert by Tecora Rodgers & The Chicago Spirituals ensemble (USA).
The St. Petersburg Conservatory chorus and the chorus of the Latvia Music Academy under conductorship by Valery Uspensky will close the festival.
