The Syrian Kurds support Russia’s actions in fighting the militants of the “Islamic state” (IS) and hope for military cooperation with Moscow.

      This was told by the head of the most influential party of the Syrian Kurdistan “Democratic Union” Salih Muslim Muhammad in an interview with RIA “Novosti“. “We are on the side of all those who fight against terrorism in Syria. What about Russia, we support its actions, even though they are late” – the agency quotes the words of the politician. He hopes that the Russian intervention will contribute to the resolution of the political conflict in Syria. Muhammad also called for closer cooperation between Moscow and the Kurds’ units of People’s Protection. “The Kurdish side cooperates with the international coalition, and we want both Kurds and the coalition to cooperate with Russia in the fight against terrorism. We want all parties to unite against this evil” - the party leader summed up.
