Boris Nemtsov Posthumously Conferred Freedom Award in the USA

2015 Freedom Award was conferred on Boris Nemtsov "for the life dedicated to promoting democracy in Russia".

      The America award ceremony took place in Washington. The award for the Russian politician was handed in to his friend, the journalist Vladimir Kara-Murza Jr, the vice-chairman to the People's Freedom Party.

      Earlier Boris Nemtsov's daughter Zhanna was handed the Jan Karski Eagle Award in Warsaw. It was also presented to the Russian politician posthumously.

      The deputy of the Yaroslavl Region Duma Boris Nemtsov was shot in the center of Moscow late at night on February 27. Five people were arrested on the case of the murder.
