The opponents of the construction of the cathedral in the “Torfyanka” park in Losinoostrovsky city district of Moscow were detained at the Red Square.

      This is told on the page of the “Public Movement “For Torfyanka” in the social network “VKontakte”. According to the activists, they were walking in the centre of the capital wearing T-shirts with the movement logos. As the representative of the defenders of the park explained to the radio station “Moscow Speaking”, “the campaign was organized by separate individuals” and did not require approval from the authorities. “We went for a walk wearing T-shirts with our logos. The goal was to attract attention (...) We were going to go one by one, two by two, just walk” - she noted.

      One of the detained activists told to the radio station that six people were brought to the “Basmannoe” Internal Affairs Department. “We ask to let us go, we cannot run away sitting in an airless prison truck” - he said, adding that another seven or eight representatives of the movement were brought to the “Kitai-Gorod” Internal Affairs Department. According to him, the reasons for detention were not explained to them.
