The Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance is thinking about a ban on the import of flowers and other plant products from a number of European countries. This was told to “Interfax” by a source in the agency, according to whom the ban can affect the flowers and other plant products from Germany, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Italy, Poland, Lithuania and Latvia.
The ban can be imposed also in relation to the countries that certify the flowers grown in the Netherlands and do not provide the security of their supplies to Russia. At the same time flowers are delivered through Netherlands from other countries, including Latin America. But as far as we know, the Dutch party has almost ceased to certify their flowers, because this country has few zones free from quarantine objects”- the source said, specifying that these products are certified in the above mentioned countries.
