FC Lokomotiv Moscow goalkeeper Marinato Guilherme is getting Russian citizenship, says the TASS news agency.
Signed in mid-2007, Guilherme has become the first Brazilian goalie in Russian professional football. He has stayed with the club ever since and managed to win a place in the lineup after a major injury and two surgeries.
There’ve been rumours that he would move to FC Krasnodar but Guilherme rejected them.
Earlier, Russia-IC reported that FC Lokomotiv Moscow forward Roman Pavlyuchenko did not extend his contract with the club, according to Sovetsky Sport.
Pavlyuchenko was not happy about the new pay which he said was cut by three times.
His contract is set to end on July 30.
Pavlyuchenko moved to Lokomotiv in February 2012 from Tottenham. He played for the English club three and a half years scoring 42 goals in 113 appearances.
He was signed while playing for Spartak Moscow in August 2008 for 17 million euro.
At the moment, Pavlyuchenko plays for FC Kuban, together with the newly-signed Andrey Arshavin.
