Russia has not considered providing financial assistance to Greece because PM Alexis Tsipras never asked for it.
The Kremlin’s spokesman Dmitry Peskov told journalists that no requests were made during the Moscow meeting on April 8 between the Greek PM and the Russian president.
Ealier, newspaper To Vima posted a report saying Tsipras asked for a 10 billion loan from Moscow to start print drachma.
According to the media, Russia linked the loan with the Turkish pipeline project.
As Russia-IC reported earlier, Russia’s gas giant Gazprom is scheduled to complete the first stage of the Turkish Stream project by late 2016.
The statement was published after the meeting between Gazprom CEO and Turkish Energy Minister in early February.
Gazprom is expected to supply 63 billion cubic meters of gas, with 47 billion to be re-directed to Europe, and 16 billion consumed inside Turkey.
The Turkish Stream project emerged after Russia scrapped South Stream amid disputes with the EU over its status and future.
