Russian forward Roman Pavlyuchenko has joined FC Kuban Krasnodar after quitting FC Lokomotiv Moscow over pay.
Earlier, Russia-IC reported that Pavlyuchenko was not going to extend his contract with the club, says Sovetsky Sport.
According to the daily, Pavlyuchenko was not happy about the new pay which he said was cut by three times.
His contract is set to end on July 30.
Pavlyuchenko moved to Lokomotiv in February 2012 from Tottenham. He played for the English club three and a half years scoring 42 goals in 113 appearances.
He was signed while playing for Spartak Moscow in August 2008 for 17 million euro.
Pavlyuchenko will join another Russian forward Andrey Arshavin who was signed by FC Kuban Krasnodar after it became obvious the Zenit coach does not want him to play any longer.
Arshavin signed a one-year contract with the southern team that finished 10th in Russia’s top league last year.
Earlier, he complained about the amount of time he spent on the bench in St Petersburg.
“When Hulk and Danny are fine, I don't get a chance,” he was quoted as saying.
He also added that it would be difficult to regain shape if the situation goes on like this.
Arshavin came back to Zenit St Petersburg after a frustrating stint at Arsenal where after a successful start he fell out with Arsene Wenger over his deteriorating shape and had to spend most of his time on the bench. He scored 30 goals in 133 matches for Arsenal.
Arshavin left Zenit in 2009 after helping the squad win the 2008 UEFA Cup and a stellar performance at Euro 2008, where Russia won bronze.
However, Arshavin has been in a poor form this season, so he was dropped to the Arsenal reserves a week before his leaving the club.
