Kinotavr Film Festival Kicks Off in Sochi

The 26th Open Russian Kinotavr Film Festival was opened with The End of La Belle Epoque by Stanislav Govorukhin on Sunday.

      The film is a screen version of Sergey Dovlatov’s collected stories The Compromise.

      The main contest will start on Monday evening with the feature films 14+ directed by Andrey Zaitsev and Angels of Revolution by Alexey Fedorchenko. 14 full-length films take part in the main competition.

      22 works will be presented in the competition of short-length films.

      The festival closing ceremony on June 14 will be accompanied with The Green Carriage directed by Oleg Asadulin.

      The chairman of the festival jury this year is the renowned film director and producer Alexey Uchitel.

      Kinotavr, aka the Open Sochi Film Festival has been annually carried out in Sochi since 1989. Mark Rudinstein and Oleg Yankovsky were its founders.
