Moscow is holding a range of events dedicated to the International day of prisoners' liberation from fascist death camps.
April 11 will see a meeting by the monument 'Tragedy of Peoples' on Poklonnaya Gora, Moscow.
Former infant prisoners of fascist camps, former war prisoners and ghetto prisoners are taking part in the action.
Moscow government and the city Duma together with some social organizations arrange a read carpet welcome for Muscovites in this or that way associated with those tragic events. The meeting will take place in the building of Moscow Mayor's Office on April 14.
18 million people were enclosed in concentration camps and prisons on the territory of the Third Reich during World War Two. Every fifth prisoner was an infant. Over 11 million people perished there. On January 27, 1945 the death camp in Oswiecim was released. April 11 saw the liberation of Buchenwald prisoners after their revolt.
Then followed the camps of Saksenhausen (April 22), Dahau (April 29) and Ravensbruck (April 30).
According to the data of Moscow authorities, over 11 thousand former infant prisoners of fascism are living in Moscow today.
