Igor Krasnov who was involved into the investigation of the case of the murder of the politician Boris Nemtsov will head the new structure of the Investigative Committee. It is created out of the investigators who have general ranks, as RBC wrote. As the lawyer of Zaur Dadaev, Ivan Gerasimov, being the main accused of the murder of the politician, told to RBC, Krasnov will deal with organizational and administrative work. He will not be directly investigating cases.
The lawyer added that the new structure will be subordinate to the Head of the Investigative Committee Aleksandr Bastrykin. As he added, the proposed changes in the committee have been known for a long time. The source of RBC in the Investigative Committee confirmed this information. A lawyer Vadim Prokhorov representing the interests of Nemtsov family said that the Krasnov was appointed the Acting Head of the new Directorate for Particularly Important Cases. The fact that the investigation team on the murder of the politician Boris Nemtsov was headed by the new leader became known earlier on May 15. The new Head is Nikolai Tutevich who was involved into the case of the murder of the State Duma deputy Ruslan Yamadayev. It is noted that the investigation did not manage to find the contractors. The assassin was sentenced to 20 years in prison in 2010.
