Light industry of Rostov region was included in the “Conception of cluster development until 2020”. On March 11 the government of Rostov region approved the document, according to which no less than 25 industrial associations should appear by 2020 in the region. The volume of attracted investments should thus be as high as 25.5 billion roubles.
Minister of economic development of the region Alexander Levchenko noted that research into of the concept of cluster development took place on the basis of competitiveness of the regional economy. In addition, the Government stressed that the creation of economic clusters will maximize the benefits of the area, and this is a very significant factor in attracting investment by regions.
Ministry of economic development of the Rostov region reported that at least 150 enterprises must enter clusters; also the program will create about 12 thousand new jobs. The stated figures are minimal, so if indicators incorporated into the program will appear less, it will be found to be ineffective.
The priority areas, along with mechanical engineering, electronics, coal processing and other industries, include light industry.
