The Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance did not let to import more than 175 tons of chicken from the USA to Russia, for they tried to import it to Kazakhstan under a certificate issued earlier than the goods were produced.
This was reported on the agency’s website. The goods were accompanied by the USA veterinary certificates as of December 8, 2014 and July 25, 2014, as well as the acts of the Veterinary and Food Service of Latvia concerning the reloading of goods. The agency reports that the reasons for the suspension of the transit of goods were serious violations of veterinary and sanitary requirements of the Customs Union expressed by the “advance” issue of the USA veterinary certificate. In particular, the date of the certificate registration is prior to that of the goods production - the end of December 2014 and January 2015, respectively. The products were returned to Latvia.
