The volume of the advertising market in Russia will decline by 17 percent – down to 282.26 billion roubles - in 2015. This was reported in the forecast report of ZenithOptimedia, as TASS writes.
This decline will be the second in its scale since the beginning of the century after 2009, when the collapse made up 27.5 percent. In particular, the TV advertising market will shrink by 19 percent - down to 129.4 billion roubles, advertising in print media and on radio will fall by 35 percent - down to 21.5 billion and 11 billion roubles, respectively. The only market to show growth in the current year will be the online advertising (by 5 percent, down to 88.8 billion roubles).
The expenditures on global advertising will increase by a total of 4.4 percent. Initially ZenithOptimedia Group expected a 4.9 percent growth, but the situation was affected by the economic instability in Russia and Ukraine, as well as slowing of growth in China. It is predicted that in 2016 the global advertising market will grow by 5.3 percent in connection with the summer Olympic Games and presidential elections in the United States.
