Celebrations Of the 2000th Anniversary Of Derbent Are Prolonged Until 2018

The events dedicated to the celebration of the 2000th anniversary of the city of Derbent are prolonged until 2018, as the Head of Dagestan Ramazan Abdullatipov stated.

      Derbent is the oldest city in Russia and one of the oldest cities in the world. The celebration of the 2000 anniversary of Derbent will cost more than 1.7 billion roubles, about 1.2 billion of which will be allocated from the federal budget.

      The anniversary celebration itself is scheduled for September 2015. Abdullatipov noted that thanks to the already performed work, the appearance of the city is changing for the better. According to the authorities, the funds allocated to the anniversary celebration will be spent mostly on the road repair, reconstruction of the parking area, as well as conducting various festivals and exhibitions.
