Higher Attestation Commission (HAC) approved theology as a scientific discipline.

      This was told to the agency “Interfax” by the Chairman of the Commission Vladimir Filippov. “Now we need to file a passport of the scientific specialty - theology will include things related to philosophy, history and so on” – Filippov stated. He added that there would be no candidates and doctors of theology in Russia.

      “Theology should be considered and introduced as a specialty with approaches existing for decades, whereas assignation of degrees of candidates and doctors of sciences is held in historical sciences, philosophy sciences, sociological sciences, pedagogical sciences and cultural sciences” - the Chairman of HAC told.
