The Pop/off/art Gallery holds the first personal exhibition of the classic of post-conceptual geometrical abstractionism Alexander Pankin (1938).
Alexander Pankin’s works of the Soviet period are a unique non-explored layer in the Russian underground art. It emerged at the confluence of abstractionism and figurative painting.
The retrospective exhibition named Head as Structure is spiced up with new works and unfolds the pervasive theme in the several last decades of Alexander Pankin’s creativity. It is based on material never shown to the general public before.
The exhibition runs from October 31 to December 7.
