Lumiere Brothers Photography Center holds an exhibition of Alfred Wertheimer.
It is dedicated to one year from the life of young Alfred Wertheimer, who was just on the takeoff to his fame.
In 1956 the photographer Alfred Wertheimer secured an order from the RCA Victor Records company for advertizing photography of a young singer in New York. Alfred Wertheimer was 26 years old, whereas the singer was 21. His name was Elvis Presley, little known yet.
Alfred Wertheimer took more than 2500 photos of Elvis within about two years. In 1958 Elvis Presley was called up for the military service and the photographer followed him to the duty station in Germany. This is where he photographed the future Rock-n-Roll king for the last time. They never met afterwards.
The exhibition runs from October 29 till December 14.
