Two Russians help NHL’s Tampa Bay Lightning waltz to a 7-1 win over the Montreal Canadiens at Amalie Arena.

      In the third period, the Lightning turned the game into a rout with goals from Ryan Callahan, Ondrej Palat and Russia’s Vladislav Namestnikov, who scored his first NHL goal.

      It was a nice response after a 3-2 shootout loss to the Ottawa Senators on Saturday.

      Nikita Kucherov had two assists.

      Earlier, Russia-IC reported that Russians put up a stellar performance in the debut round of NHL’s new season.

      Washington Capitals captain Alex Ovechkin pounded two goals past Boston Bruins goaltender Tuukka Rask.

      Columbus Blue Jackets goalie Sergey Bobrovsky makes a wonderful save to prove his authority in the team.

      Evgeni Malkin restored Pittsburgh's three-goal lead with his first of the season, a power-play goal at 13:46. His side went on to win 5-2 against the Toronto Maple Leafs at Air Canada Centre on Saturday.

      Artem Anisimov scored his second goal of the season early in the first to give the Blue Jackets a 1-0 lead.

      Also, former Rangers defenseman Fedor Tyutin was plus-5 to set a Blue Jackets record.
