Renowned film director, actor and public figure Yury Lyubimov has died, aged 97, in Moscow.

      According to doctors, he died of heart failure in cardiology department of the Botkin hospital, where he was taken on October 2 with this diagnosis.

      “Despite intensive complex therapy and timely diagnostics and medical help Yury Lyubimov died at the age of 97”, - the hospital reported to TASS.

      Yury Lyubimov turned 97 years old on September 30.

      The Vakhtangov Theatre will hold the farewell ceremony dedicated to Yury Lyubimov, the theater director Kirill Krok has confirmed.
