Russia’s senior policymaker has dismissed hopes of a new reset in the relationship between the US and Russia ruptured after several rounds of sanctions over Russia’s alleged role in the Ukraine crisis.
On his Twitter account, Alexey Pushkov said there is no chance for a reset 2.0 like the one that Obama ushered in to fix ties with Russia damaged during the presidency of his predecessor, President Bush.
Russia has sparked a wave of criticism after it incorporated Crimea into its territory following a referendum on the peninsula with a large ethnic Russian population.
The US and the EU imposed a raft of sanctions on Russian officials and individuals with close ties to the Kremlin.
The US also put space and military cooperation on hold, followed by some of its NATO allies, including the UK.
