A new project was launched in the Darwin Museum in September, thus the visitors of the museum will learn about the ancient traditions of nomadic peoples. Experts will tell about the rites and rituals of the Kirghiz, as the agency “Moskva” reports.
The visitors of the museum will be able to look into the real yurt – an easily assembled residential construction of a frame and ornamented felt. “It is difficult for a modern man to imagine that one’s life could depend on entirely other things, that people entrusted their fate to the wind, rain, and, of course, animals. Each nation had its own totem animal that defended it from its enemies, troubles and evil spirits”- the representatives of the Department of Culture of Moscow noted.
The museum staff promised to arrange a real tea ceremony for visitors, as well as to show them the sacred snow leopard and other totem animals of Kyrgyzstan. The project is organized in collaboration with the cultural and educational centre “Ethnomir”. The exhibition will be open until 14 September.
