Today is 238th anniversary of the famous Russian fable writer and dramatist Ivan Andreevich Krylov. He was born on February 13 (2), 1768 in Moscow.
      
       Amusing and teaching Krylov’s iambic fables, altogether 201, appeal both to children and adults. The fable animal characters in a funny way embody features easily recognized in people’s society.
      
      Ivan Andreevich Krylov died on November 21 (9), 1844 in St. - Petersburg. Each of his friends together with an invitation to his funeral got a book of fables with his inscription: ‘Present. In memoriam of Ivan Andreevich at his will’
