Monument to Ukrainian Poet Taras Shevchenko to Appear in Voronezh Region

A monument to the national hero of Ukraine will be set up in Rossosh town of the Voronezh Region.

Whereas monuments to Lenin and other artifacts reminding of the Soviet past are being taken down in conflict-affected Ukraine, it has been decided to set in stone the Ukrainian poet Taras Shevchenko in the Voronezh Region. The monument will be set up in the town’s central square, which will be improved and reconstructed on the occasion.

It should be noted that the Rossosh District is one of the two districts of the Voronezh Region adjoining Ukraine.

It still remains unknown how much this manifestation of good-neighbourliness will cost to the budget of Rossosh.
