Alexander Abdulov Monument Unveiled in Yugra

The 12th Film Debuts International Festival “Spirit of Fire” was started in Khanty-Mansiysk on Saturday.

      Its main competition includes 11 works by young filmmakers from around the world and 10 works more take part in the Russian Debuts program. The jury will announce the competition results on March 6.

      Before starting the opening ceremony the illustrious film-director Sergei Solovyov unveiled a monument to the famous actor Alexander Abdulov, who was his friend and the first art director of Spirit of Fire. The monument is now located in the foyer of the fashionable concert hall Yugra -Classic. When the snow has melted down, the bronze statue of Alexander Abdulov will be set up outdoors, in front of the entrance into this popular cultural center of Khanty-Mansiysk .

      “We are greeting Alexander with his 60th anniversary, he is alive to us, though a monument now”, - Sergei Solovyov said.
