Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev approved the list of 1007 organizations to be transferred under authority of the Federal Agency of Scientific Organizations (FANO), the Cabinet website reports.

      FANO structure will include federal government institutions and the federal state unitary enterprises (FSUE) run by the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS), the Russian Academy of Medical Sciences (RAMS) and the Russian Academy of Agricultural Sciences (RAAS).

      According to the decree, "FANO of Russia will take responsibility for implementation of the functions and powers of the Federal Property owner, secured for these organizations, as well as the powers of organizations' founder." The document explains that this decision aims improving the efficiency of these institutions and is one of the steps towards implementation of the law on RAS reorganization.
