32 objects in Altai Krai will be given the status of natural monuments until 2025. It is also planned to create 8 wildlife preserves, one arboretum, one natural and two national parks, as well as to expand the area of the six existing reserves.
According to the report published on the Krai Administration website, the status of protected areas will be given to objects in order to preserve the unique forms of landscapes, as well as to protect the plants listed in the Red Book of the Altai Krai and Russia.
Status changes will be applied to Kolyvan Mountain and Togul national parks; Kulundinsky natural park; Kolyvansky Ridge reserve and Big Sogra Swamp in Bystroistoksky district; Beam System in Novokormikha and Bychye Lake in Volchikhinsky district; Ancient Riverbed in Aschegul in Mikhailovsky district, "near the village Parfyonovo Village Steppes and Borovye Swamps in Topchikhinsky district; Beryozovaya and Vereskovaya Mountains in the Altai disctrict and Voronye Lake in Aleisky district.
