Great Russian Actor Yury Yakovlev Passes Away

The People’s Artiste of the USSR Yury Yakovlev died, aged 85, on the night of Saturday in Moscow.

      Yury Yakovlev was born on April 25, 1928. In 1952 he graduated from the Schukin Theatrical School and took the stage at the Vakhtangov Theatre, where he played throughout all his life. Yuri Yakovlev has played more than 100 roles in theater and cinema.

      The funeral of the outstanding actor Yury Yakovlev will take place at the Novodevichy Cemetery on Tuesday, December 3, the Vakhtangov Theatre reported on Saturday to the Interfax news agency.

      The farewell public ceremony will last from 10 am to 1 pm and then the procession will move on to the Novodevichy Cemetery, the theater press service informs.
