The International Siberian Cultural Tourism Forum will take place in the Altai Krai for the first time.

The Siberian Cultural Tourism Forum in the Altai Krai is scheduled for the period from 5 to 7 December 2013. The organizers are: the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation and the Altai Krai Administration, as the representatives of the Directorate for Development of Tourism and Recreation and Spa Facilities of the Altai Krai reported.

The purpose of the event is to discuss the issues of the implementation of the state policy in the sphere of tourist activity, the development of health tourism and the involvement of the cultural heritage into the tourist turnover. One of the important topics discussed recently is the formation of interregional cultural and educational tourism project "The Great Silk Road" implemented under the auspices of the World Tourism Organization.

Inspired by the cultural traditions of the historical Silk Road, the Silk Road Project is a catalyst promoting innovation and learning through the arts. The vision is to connect the world’s neighborhoods by bringing together artists and audiences around the globe.
