Moscow office properties around the Kremlin are more expensive than the golden triangle area around the Champs Elysées in Paris, says the latest survey by Jones Lang LaSalle.
The rent of one square meter with a view on the Kremlin would set domestic and international majors around $1,150 a year.
The demand is driven by financial and legal corporations while the price remains high due to construction limits in this part of the Russian capital.
Overall, Moscow’s centre ranks 6th in the standing of the most expensive office areas.
Part of the reason is that fact that the city lags European cities in terms of office space saturation.
According to Jones Lang LaSalle, Moscow is in 5th place by absolute volume of quality office premises (15m sq m) behind European capitals like London (20.4m sq m), Berlin (17m sq m), Paris (16.7m sq m) and Munich (15.7m sq m).
