Mail.ru and Zaycev.net have joined the mass online strike against the so called anti-pirate law which came into effect on August 1.
In particular, Mail.ru, a major online entertainment group, put up a link toast post on its corporate blog which cites some of the amendments that the company owned by billionaire Alisher Usmanov wants to be adopted.
According to the new law, websites with illegal content, i.e. unlicensed movies, may be blocked or taken down if they fail to comply with the requests by the authorities.
